Grow Birmingham for Birmingham Hospice
Oar-Some Birmingham Babes
My Story
We’re Jules and Lisa from Grow Birmingham and proud ambassadors for Birmingham Hospice.
This year, we are bringing together an oar-some crew of Birmingham Babes to take part in the annual Dragon Boat Race at Brindleyplace in support of this incredible local charity.
Our team is proudly called the Oar-Some Birmingham Babes and on 27th June 2026 we’ll be taking to the water to raise as much money as possible for Birmingham Hospice.
As ambassadors, we have seen first-hand the compassion, care and support Birmingham Hospice provides to local families during some of the most difficult moments in life.
Birmingham Hospice provides specialist end of life care for people living with a terminal illness, as well as vital support for their loved ones and families.
Making every moment matter for patients and their families is at the heart of everything they do.
Each year, after NHS funding, Birmingham Hospice still needs to raise around £5.5 million through voluntary donations to continue delivering this vital care across our city.
Just £100 can help contribute towards:
- Specialist nursing care for local patients
- Bereavement support for families and children
- Hospice at Home services
- Counselling and wellbeing support
- Creating comfort, dignity and compassion when it matters most
Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely helps make a difference to local people and families across Birmingham.
We would be so grateful for any support you can give as we row, wobble and hopefully avoid falling into the canal for a very important cause.
Please dig deep if you can and help us raise as much as possible for Birmingham Hospice 💚
Much love,
Jules, Lisa & the Oar-Some Birmingham Babes 🚣♀️
